My Own Best Whole Wheat Pizza Dough Recipe
- 2 cups white whole wheat flour
- 1 Tbs yeast
- 1 cup warm (NOT HOT) water
- 2 Tbs olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Tbs honey
- 1/4 cup wheat germ
- Combine the lukewarm water, 1 1/2 cups of flour and yeast in a large bowl. If you use a stand mixer to mix your dough then put this in the bowl of your mixer and mix well.
- Now add the rest of the ingredients and mix with the dough hook.
- “Knead” the pizza dough with the mixer for a few minutes.
- Oil the sides of the bowl, put plastic over it and let it rise in a warm place for an hour.
- Dust a clean surface with flour and dump the dough onto the surface for shaping.
- For a large rectangular cookie sheet pizza, roll the ball into a huge rectangle using a rolling pin. Then transfer it to the cookie sheet.
- Now you have whole wheat pizza dough that’s ready to be topped and baked.
